Amazing Bridal Portraits

Charity was able to truly get some amazing bridal portraits using natural light and flash.  We were on a time schedule since we still had engagement portraits right after the session.  I love natural light when the conditions are favorable.  Unfortunately,  we don’t control the night and day.  Therefore, when capturing bridals I use what is available.

The best natural light can often be direct sunlight when used to flatter your subject.  I was able to capture some amazing bridal portraits of Charity by using direct sunlight to rim light her dress.  A kiss of flash was just enough to highlight her lovely facial structure.  After finding my light, a classic bridal pose revealed her elegance.

After capturing some bridal portraits using natural light I decided to use some off camera flash.  We left the grounds of the SC State House and went over to the South Carolina Court of Appeals building.  There we used the steps to tell the story of Charity’s anticipation of getting married.
