Carolina Alumni Association

I had to hold back my excitement when Amber told me she was getting married to the home My Carolina Alumni Association, the USC Alumni Center. With over 60,000 square feet of space, it is by far the one of the best wedding venues for every part of your wedding day in Columbia, SC.  It is spacious, classy, and functional.  The USC Alumni Center is located downtown, in an area known as the Vista.  Some of the amenities available in the center include a dividable ballroom, outdoor patio, meeting space (perfect for getting ready), and a grand staircase.  The grand staircase is the perfect backdrop for wedding formals.

Meet the Blacks

It goes down in the DM.  Amber and David are the second couple I have photographed that met online.  Online dating is becoming the norm.  Amber and David are living proof that you can find true through online dating.  David professed his love to Amber in front of a packed room of  Tupelo Honey Cafe patrons. Tupelo Honey Cafe is Amber’s favorite place for brunch.  It was David’s incredible spirit, leadership, and world views that attracted Amber to him.  David realized that Amber is as brilliant as she is beautiful.   After seeing the wedding images you will agree with David; Amber lights up a room with grace and elegance.  I am truly looking forward to more of these two lovebirds.  I see ministry and a little bit of mischief in their future together.

USC Alumni Center Wedding Day

As photographers we always look for a room full of splendid details.  As a story teller, I am looking for magical moments filled with emotion. The wedding day all started with two proud fathers giving away their daughter, Amber.  As they walked down the isle of the Alumni Center, It didn’t take long for David to show signs of weakness for his bride.  A crying groom is something a photographer and bride cherish.  I have never heard a groom speak so eloquently about his bride.  After hearing David’s written vows, Amber had a few tears of her own.

Reception

The AG Affect provided wedding decor fit for royalty.  Mr. and Mrs. Black’s decor was one of the most jaw-dropping reception decor I have seen. A throne couch provided by The AG Affect would serve as a backdrop for Amber’s and David’s first dance.  The couple decided what better dance for a ballroom than the waltz.   The second dance was a praise dance performed by Amber.  She twirled around in her gorgeous Carolina Couture wedding dress like a princes.  It was absolutely one of the most amazing gestures of joy I have ever seen from a bride.  Next, Amber transition into a waltz that turned into a surprise, well-choreographed father-daughter routine with her second father. The night ended with a focus on more family portraits on the USC Alumni Center staircase and a staircase sendoff.
